I'm sure there is some opposition, particularly from those "authorized" dealers who (wrongly) believe they are immune, however, I don't believe no news is bad news. IMHO there are/will be numerous chip manufacturers, distributors and OEMs that participate. Patience cat.

Hey cat...I'm going to ramble with opinions for a bit, so bear with me. :-)

As much as we would like it to happen, I think we have to accept the fact that APDN is not going to provide news of any kind (especially not about contracts naming customers and dollar amounts directly involved with anti-counterfeiting in the military sector) in an attempt to get the stock price to go up or to appease us "investors". They will continue to provide info of course, but probably info that is public already, as was the case with the DLA mandate.

We still see them as a penny stock, and as we all know, penny stocks pump their products, real or implied, as a means to put more money in the owner's pockets before they run off to the Caymans. ;-)

From the "noise", we know something big is going on, but we can't fathom why they aren't they letting us know what's happening?! We're not used to quiet from a penny stock when we know things are going on with it, so it's tough for us to sit here on the outside looking in through frosted glass speculating on what those people inside at APDN are doing.

IMO, it's because APDN is past all the pumping and dumping and is a penny stock in share price only. They are running with the big dogs now, and have been for awhile. There is no need for them to pump themselves and their product to the investing community anymore. The "story" of what is really happening with APDN is not going to come from press releases as it has in the past when APDN needed to sell some stock to get by. From now on, we will see what is happening with them in their quarterly and annual reports. And the share price will go up or down accordingly at that time. Not to say penny stock pumpers won't still be trying to make a buck or two off APDN, so I'm sure we will still see some ups and downs for awhile before beginning that long, smooth ride up. ;-)

The pen/ink thing with Montblanc made me think about APDN and what they disclose, or more importantly, what they don't disclose to the public. And I think johnsyn said something awhile back about some things being in APDN and their customer's best interests to not be made public.

I think the media has made it clear that companies (and governments) are at war with counterfeiters. If a country is at war with another country, and they have an invisible spy plane to keep track of their enemies movements, etc., it's probably in their best interest to not let the enemy know that, so that the enemy isn't trying to find out ways to detect it and render their big advantage useless.

Same thing with botanical dna...if I was using it as a means of verification and authentication to prevent counterfeits from getting into my supply chain, I don't think I would advertise the fact so that counterfeiters weren't looking for a way to get around it or duplicate it. And I wouldn't want the company I bought it from to say anything about it either.

I feel that APDN will share information when appropriate because it's worthy of mentioning, or if the info has already been shared by someone else, and not because they want to get stock market "playas" excited so that they can dump millions of shares for cash to pay the electric bill.

IMO - NO NEWS = Relax and enjoy the ride.

Keep in mind, there is a war going on with counterfeiting, and as the old saying goes, "All's fair in love and war.", so the only expectations we should have of APDN is to expect the unexpected. lol
