Call the physics dept. Should be able to get that extension from the main switchboard.

From the website get the name of the Material Science prof PHD-

You would be taking your chances as to whether he answers his phone,but you can always leave a message.

Typically these professors have reasearch and teaching assistants-

They might be able to answer questions as well-
