re Apple sales
Apple is doing much better with a younger demographic.
As much as I prefer to have uncompressed music on CD, I am wondering whether getting young users in the iTunes fold at $0.99/track from an early age won't set Apple up for long-term success as new buyers commit to Apple's format (and thus its players or licensees).
Apple actually benefits at the moment from the inconsistency in IP licensing rules across borders, as it creates a barrier to new market entrants that vendors other than Apple would have to amortize across many fewer sales. Does any label have distribution in as many countries as Apple does? This could be an interesting thing.
Oh, yeah: how much do you think Apple Corp. would cost, exactly ...?
Take care,
