It would be very interesting, and, believe me, I'm dying to ask. As for the clinical trial alluded to, I have no way of knowing which he is referring to, but..
Vassilev, et al, with Roche had been doing work in this area at least 10 years ago.
Also, you might find this article interesting, albeit a bit dense.
