Analyst calls for refarming of 1.4-GHz band for mobile services.

177 million for an 8 MHz wide US full coverage spectrum ? Really ? That cheap ? Yep, and in Europe they want the 1.4 GHz spectrum to be reserved for mobile networks, newest mobile technolgy 1.4 TD LTE equipment just tested in China, but in the US the company that owns the 1.4 band licenses thinks it is not more worth than 177 million.

Softbank buying up beachfront electricmagnetic real estate in US ?
It is called spectrum ! Make your 300 year plan with this procurement, buy the 1.4 band for 177 million now. How much is 100 m2 land in Manhattan again ?

Which leads some skeptics to conclude that Softbank may simply be speculating on the value of U.S. wireless spectrum -- a potentially valuable commodity that's both in high demand and, depending on who you believe, short supply.
