First article I see mentioning the "deferred tax assets". Author believes it is possible to record a combined 60+ bill profit in 2013. That would put us a lot closer to seeing anything out of DeMarco's "preferred have a claim secondary to taxpayers".

I think it's the Romney effect. The perception is Romney will protect Freddie and Fannie. Is Romney's climb in the polls and F&F's climb in ops preferred on the same two days a coincidence? We'll see in the coming days if Obama begins to turn his numbers back in his favor if F&F fall on those days. Proof is in the pudding..
