To prove performance, the company need only release: How many machines are typically running over the past month, 2 months, quarter, year to date (the company can pick what it feel is a reasonable, representative interval), for how much uptime and how much fuel did that (those) machine(s) made.

It's not rocket science.

The company has apparently made a determination / decision that withholding the information above is less damaging that releasing it. That's an odd decision if the performance data is good, and a very reasonable course of action of the performance is poor. If one buys into the premise that RB is a good manager, then the lack of transparency could be a 'good' management decision if the machines are not performing well and or there is only one machine is operating on a sproadic basis, and or there not a sufficent of 'free feedstock' for the business model to work profitably.
