What is the difference between left-censored and right-censored data?

A very minor technical detail.

Left censor, a patient fails to show up at the clinic in week 11 and is censored at week 10 on the chart.

Right censor, at week 11.

Somebody a while ago might have caused some confusion here by incorectly calling censors that were not "end of trial" left censors. End of trial censors are those who simply ran out of time, they were on the chart for X months and then censored because they were in the trial for only X months.

True that the end of trial censors will be on the right, but this is not what the term "right censor" means.

Left censor and right sensor I believe refers to data points that are either over or under median but unknown by how much.

Seems like the message is deleted so what was the relevance?
