Tobin Smith's Take on Microsoft Partnership with Mimvi

Microsoft Partners and Invests In MIMV
By Tobin Smith | September 25, 2012, 1:15pm GMT

In our latest NBT Week, we listed Mimvi as our NBT Stock of the month. Today's recent news solidifies our pick and you'll see why.

We have been expecting something like this for a while…but today its final: Mimvi, Inc. (MIMV) has announced that it has finalized a partnership agreement with Microsoft Corp. The partnership will see Mimvi develop a number of products and services to complement Microsoft's Windows Azure and Windows Mobile 8 Platforms.

The agreement also involves Microsoft making investments in Mimvi in the form of engineering services, software, and cash.

Full details to follow…based on recent acquisitions of OTHER app search engines (Chomp) or private round financings (Quixey).

Remember…the direct competitor, Quixey (funded by Eric Schmidt of Google), just got a $90-$100M post-money valuation on its latest round of venture capital.

The Quixey valuation makes MIMVI at $2 stock…it’s now priced at 45 cents.

Think about the value of Mimvi search to Microsoft…who is trailing badly in the mobile race. Think Bing/Xbox/Windows 8 app search ALL powered by Mimvi technology. This is why this is a HUGE HUGE deal and now sets the table for a $100M+ take-out for Mimvi shareholders.

You see, Microsoft and Facebook and Amazon COULD have gone the Quixey way…but the Google tie at Quixey KILLED those deals. What was left? Mimvi!

As we have said all summer, MIMVI is last man standing in app search engine that was NOT part of Google. Amazon/Facebook/Samsung and Microsoft NEED Mimvi technology and know-how…the ONLY question was which one of the 5 Giants of Consumer Technology was going to get Mimvi….and now we know.

We assume Mimvi goes into MSFT as soon as they see the Mimvi search engine technology up close and personal…only question is what value.

WE are holding out for $2 a share…CEO Kasian thinks more like $3 a share.

HOLD your Mimvi shares and grab some as soon as possible.

Disclosure: NBT Communications owns one million MIMIV shares from past investor marketing engagements.
