If someone tells me that he made this or that on a stock, I
give him the benefit of the doubt unless there's a really
good reason not to.

Most here are anonymous anyways and what's the point of
telling a lie about your gains. The most important measure
of your trading and investing is your monthly statement after
all.

BTW, short-term treasuries are not all that unattractive these
days.

Re: Only you would interpret that to mean I bought at $3. Unlike you I claim no devine invervention.

So if you didn't mean to imply that you bought at $3, you shouldn't have used it as an example, Bobs. You seem to do this a lot in your posts. For example, I think this is the 3rd or 4th time you suggested that I claim device intervention, but I have never said this. Only you have claimed to have a "non-technical" background, so I continue to ask why you make technical conclusions supported by an inaccurate analysis. If you think I am stretching in your familiar area of finance, then you should know how I feel when you make stretches in my familiar area of engineering.

Re: as best I can figure it, without doing a lot of work, I have between a 4 and 6 bagger with my AMD investment. Last I checked that was a lot better than I would have done if I'd stayed with INTC

I've made 3 AMD trades in the last several years, with each one gaining about $6-10 per share. I have also announced my trades of AMD on these threads, so you can look them up. Not to be snide, but I would recommend buying low and selling high, since AMD stock tends to resemble a sine wave most of the time. If you buy for the really long term, you may accumulate several "baggers" worth of growth, but it doesn't mean that's the best way to trade AMD stock. Congratulations, however, since it's still a very impressive gain either way.
