I screen for chart patterns, being a technical swing trader, basically. I don't enter parameters per say asking software to search for events. The thing good about Finviz is you can mouse over hundreds of stocks looking for chart patterns in minutes. Once I find an interesting pattern. I jot it down in a list. Which I take to Stockcharts for short term evaluation, using my favorate TA indicators. For entry/exit DMI and the 5.10,20 MA overly. For support the StochRSI and CMF. Also markup the pattern and calculate the Target then plan the trade.

I only trade what I want, not whats in front of me. I want good chart patterns about to breakout, with positive entry/exit indicators and good or improving support indicators. Any thing doesn't fit. I don't play.
