AMD got a substantial one-time power gain from 90nm, which can be attributed to a process better than their previous 130nm node, but then again you'd expect that. In terms of bin-splits, what's your basis of comparison? They released a 2.6GHz 130nm Athlon 64-FX, didn't they? I'm sure they will go beyond 2.8GHz single core, and possibly even as high as 2.8GHz dual core, but when and at what power would amount to an interesting datapoint.
