you are wrong about that. Genentech's big 3 Herceptin, Rituxan, and Avastin never were tested in an randomized double blind placebo controlled phase II. All their registration trials were phase III and all of those were open labeled, not placebo controlled. Statistical analysis is meaningless in a small open labeled phase II. That why Bavi phase II was so impressive because it's blinded with placebo control. All those Bavi critics have no ground to question the validity of the trial results other than asserting that the whole trial and independent review board was a sham and a fraud was commited. That is just outragous and the potential partners won't buy it.
