While I don't think anybody is going to question AMD having a better server and desktop product design, I think this is quite a stretch. Every IEDM paper I have seen puts Intel in the lead for transistor drive strength vs. subthreshold leakage. I have heard AMD has 9 layers of interconnect versus Intel at 7, and maybe even 11 layers for AMD. It is not at all clear this is better, as it adds quite a bit to TPT, product cost, and defect density. Is there some other metric or data you can point to that indicates AMD has a better production process than INTC?

Oh I see. No wonder you are so bullish on AMD. Since you've boiled it down so easily, I'll do the same. During the same time period, I see AMD suffering from inferior designs, an inferior process, and a huge overcapacity problem. They will try to drag Intel into a pricewar, but it will be theirs to lose.
