I find the disclosure to be an honest declaration of the state of the company. I do not think Jeff has hurt his reputation: he must feel that what he's done is good for the future stability of the company, and I agree with him. He holds a ton of the float, so it's more stable now. When the PR comes out, everyone will have a clear understanding, thus dispelling the fearmongering. IMO.
