Everyone wants to know where the middleclass retired people are investing their money these days. I think the answer to that is cd's and money market accounts, so really what it boils down to is their money is doing next to nothing, just sitting there. You could put it in the stock market but if your like me and have lost 25% over the last 12 years you might want to think twice about that.I can honestly say that after 25 years in the stock market I have never made a dime, over time something comes along and takes it all back. And after next year I believe people are going to be giving back even more money. Maybe Keith Anderson will show up and give us back some of the money he ran off with, or maybe not.

MM2, I never thought in my lifetime that I would see the day where putting your money under your mattress would pay better than loaning it to the government. It was always a joke to say that but not any more.
