I have to confess that I have made a lot more money from Intel than from AMD in sporadic affairs with both over the same time as you. As I have said before on SI, my AMD investment horizon is until about January 06. It has also changed from being an unthinking long to a trader. If I continue beyond 1Q 06, trading will predominate.
I know all the arguments about the potential for exponential growth in earnings in 06 and beyond and the shift in balance between AMD and Intel - but I'm agnostic. Not being a geek I have to assess the opinions of informed third-parties taking into account their various vested interests and biases. And my current reading is that the future is not that certain.
Like you I would like to find other stocks with a growth story.
