I think any geopolitical events can directly impact oil prices and therefore many oil stocks which pps trades along with the prices of oil. Most large cap oil & gas E&P or Oilfield Services do from what I have noticed.

I think this combined with an overall bullish climate for oil makes OFS stocks like $HAL very attractive for a short term perspective and long term going into 2013.
