Yeah, INTC is selling tons of Itaniums and the Cray market is just too small to go after. Really, well that market is not too small for CRAY/AMD, and then there's all that cachet attached to the highest end super conputers.

Go look at slide 27 here:

http://www.sun.com/aboutsun/investor/earnings_releases/Q405_SLD.pdf

According to IDC data for 1Q05 Cray's revenue share for
the Opteron server market was about 3% or roughly $12m.

And according to Cray's quarterly report here:

http://investors.cray.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=98390&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=707595&highlight=

They had a total of $26m in product revenue in 1Q05 so
Opteron stuff isn't even a majority of Cray sales yet, as
tiny as they are.

Like I said before regarding SGI's primary competitors in
the HPC market, Cray isn't even on the radar.

Re: Next year the server market is not going to kind to INTC.

Next year, Intel has a brand new platform coming out, as well as a new power efficient micro-architecture. You may want to wait and see before making this conclusion.
