Neither Baker nor any other Republican (nor the US Supreme Court) "disenfranchised tens of thousands of Floridians". This is pure democratic mythology and demogoguery used to play the racial card and encourage class warfare. Whatever you think of Bush for other reasons, he won Florida fair and square, despite democratic machinations to overturn the vote. Virtually all the recounts, even those by liberals, proved Bush won.

the bottom line is that if they can't ensure that our votes are counted fairly and properly... if there is no paper trail, no audits and no recounts... might as well just sell the offices to the highest bidder and forget about democracy
