Actually the residue is hot tapped in liquid form. I've watched it. But apparently it's not perfect, yet, and some build up occurs aka "fouling" over a period of time, and it needs to be cleaned out.

They make 2-4% petcoke. Most of it is hot tapped removed. If anybody believes that the leftover crust that builds up over time from fouling and needs to be cleaned out weighs 2-4% of the feedstock put in, then I have a yellow ladder to sell you.

The photo in the presentation illustrates the problem of fouling petcoke. JB designed a tap that when opened will remove the petcoke without needing to shut the processor down in order to manually clean the drums.

Currently, the system works as described however, is currently going through a redesign to find a better more efficient solution. As is my understanding.

Again the petcoke is removed without shutting the processor down. This is the current status as described on the plastic2oil website.

My understanding is JB would, is, or has redesigned the hot tap automatic process.

This may come as a surprise to you, but the petcoke removal system may have worked well enough at a 2000 lb/hr feed rate but is not effective enough at 4000 lb/hr.

When you double flow rates through a system, things change.
