You're right Mikey. Certainly not going to happen by March of '13, but I don't think it's such a horrible idea. We chip our animals so they can be identified when they are lost.....why not people? I live in Florida now. "God's waiting room." A lot of old people down here, wander away, and when found, don't know who they are...etc. What about dead bodies? Instant identity. Now here is where I know I'll lose my audience: I say put a GPS on the chip so we can actually FIND lost children, victims of crime, etc. And yes, I can hear the screams of NOOOOOO. Especially from husbands who cheat on their wives and don't want to be found.

My cat is chipped. At the end of her life when she is sick and in pain, I can have her mercifully "put to sleep". Why can't we be as good to people as we are to our animals?

PS, my cat never ever gets outside, but just in case...........
