NFC adoption catalyst.
We saw Samsung do this, now LG is doing it too.

They are using NFC to replace corporate ID cards (keys).

While the media is fixated on using NFC for mobile payments, the secured credential application is getting traction. NFC is so much more than making a payment using a mobile phone, it enables transferring secure data over a wireless connection. Think keys, boarding passes, passports, driver's license etc.

People will get comfortable swiping their mobile phone to gain access, then they will get used to using NFC for mobile payments.

The payment application of NFC is just ONE component of the "mobile wallet".

Korean IT services supplier LG CNS has unveiled an NFC-based access control service that allows credentials to be securely issued and updated over the air.
