Like the song says, "Sad but True", and yes there isn't anything we can do about it.

These people will come in thinking that they can buy a cheap penny stock and overnight it will zoom to dollars and will be rich, rich, rich!! And when it does start to move and folks on this or any other forum get excited and start talking it up, they think it is good. Then reality sets in and the stock rolls over and heads south. Not slowly either, like a hot knife through butter!!

All to often I see people one day all giddy because the stock moved up 20% to 50%, and the next day shoot right back down to the low of the week or lower. Then they start bashing it because it didn't keep going, and why didn't someone on the forum tell me, blah blah blah. I would even venture a guess that there are those that think just because there are people pumping the stock on the website, that the stock has to rise. Like this website is the master controller of the stocks price!!! LOL, and have another dubby hit!!

There are those that think charts can't work on these kind of stocks. I respectfully disagree, and have made $ when it was going up, got out when the signs pointed to a possible turn southward. Sometimes I have left a few ticks on the top, but I did not get caught in the mad dash to escape as it plummeted back to earth.

So to answer your question, yes, they are here, tin foil and all, as well as over populated in Washington DC. But that is another discussion for another forum!!

Actually, as a neophyte these boards influenced my decisions: part of the learning curve. It's more question of ignorance than stupidity. It's no different than being sucked in by promo newsletters, which is where i lost a bunch of cash in the early days. I can tell you I learned a lot from reading these boards. There are some very knowledgeable traders here ..... I'm actually making a few bucks now! And access to great DD is also valuable.
