I don't know, the Treatment Horizons breakfast satellite is one of the 3 main events outside the main conference. The meal served will draw people in who need to get charged before a full day of lectures and they'll have something out of the ordinary to wake them up and draw their attention.
I think it would've been much worse if he would present a satellite during the actual conference.
Being one of the plenary speakers is completely unrealistic, if you look at that list, these are all people working in huge welfare/AIDS organisations who have dedicated their entire life to this subject.
AIDS/HIV is just one of the avenues of CBIS, I'm already very impressed they managed to participate in this event.
