I'm not NJ, but I think I know the answer to your question. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will be glad to correct me.
I believe that this was the subject of the peer reviewed study done by Roskamp. Beta amyloid plaque is present in the brains of Alzheimers patients and the study shows that anatabine inhibits it's formation both in-vitro and in-vivo (mouse model). Roskamp has approval for a human study which may already be underway. In any event they are apparently still recruiting volunteers.
However, it has been postulated that they will begin the study with each subject once each is enrolled. There is no obvious reason why the study would have to begin with all subjects at the same time. Therefore, it is probable that the study is already underway.
