Through all the years, the one item that the bashers have failed to dissect, is the technology offered by this company...that which is patented.

On that matter, I have never seen anyone speak to the caliber of the technology offered nor have I seen a qualified and independent opinion of the same.

Why is that?

Egbert, if you admit that MicroOS was not really needed in the past, contrary to what management was saying, what makes you think it's going to be needed in the future?

Many other companies have file management programs that are already handling a convergence of different types of data, codecs, etc. all processed on various memory media in one hand-held unit. MicroOS does not seem that unique and the e.Digital products that contain MOS are not even state of the art with capabilities. (They're having to play catch-up with ID3 tags, etc. with the flagship Ody 1000, which is lacking many of the features that other players have, like being able to create playlists on the fly).

No one at e.Digital is officially claiming that MicroOS is able to do things that no other technology can do. And no one is banging down e.Digital's door looking to license the technology.

I keep hearing this mantra that MicroOS was just too ahead of its time. How old is that technology now? If they've made changes to it with versions 2.0 and 3.0, how come they never filed new patents? What are the new claims of versions 2.0 and 3.0?

Are you sure it isn't just some simple little file management program that doesn't do anything beyond what the file management programs used by other companies do?

Are there any applications for which MicroOS is the best or the only solution? Can you list them and why you believe that no other company has technology that will do the same or more? Specifically, what is MicroOS able to do that no one else's technology can do?
