I don't think that he people of Boston would have needed Paul Revere to bring the message on horseback. Even then investors were savvy enough to know that when a stock was down 90% in a relatively short period of time while issuing numerous press releases that this investment was done.

Old technology, huge overhead, rapidly declining share prices and volume drying up all spells DISASTER. No Paul Revere needed that is unless someone wanted to buy a beautiful silver tea service.
