George Cole ---Your agenda is clear to me ---But you are absolutly right ---Many Jews are against Sharons Policy's --I cringe and am embarassed at many actions he has taken--I would eliminate the Jewish Settlements in Palastinian cities---I would make every effort to effect a peacefull solution to their problems---Not all Palastinians are pariah's ---I am in favor of Shimon Perez ---He his truly a man of peace and reason---Unfortunatly the suicide bombers have enraged the Isreal population to a point to where they bought into Shoron's policies---By the same token Arafat is no bargain--For the sake of peace they both shoud be replaced---

interesting split on israeli views. Haaretz tends the left centrist viewpoint.

I comment that in order to beleive the first viewpoint to be true, that is, an Iraqi war might help Israeli desires to effect a resolution to the palestinian crisis, then you must also beleive that in fact Iraq, syria, lebanon and Iran are truly enemies of Israel and are actively trying to destroy any resolution with the palestininians. So if you accept the Israeli military ideas that a war with Iraq is helpful, you must also accept the ideas that other countries in the region are trying to harm Israel.

This is a problem of logic. It is contradictory to the view of the anti war pro palestinian marchers that Israel is an agressor and tyrant and trying to stop all efforts of peace.
If the nations of syria Iraq lebanon and Iran were actually the peaceful nations that some would have you beleive, then it can not also be true that an American Iraq war could be helpful to Israel. Only if you beleive that the surrounding nations are trying to hurt Israel can a Iraqi war be helpful.
