R,
Not feeling so well recently,I decided to visit my Doctor during which time I had my blood pressure taken. To both our surprise it read 130/88. The Doctor described my condition as Pre Hypertension.
I was perplexed. How could I a middle aged woman reasonably fit find herself with such condition. Their response was simple."Stress can kill you". They said one of the most important things we can do for our general wellbeing is to keep a positive attitude.
They said recently they had an abstract patient visit who turned up with 180/110. They described this as a hypertensive Crisis.
Whilst the numbers sounded rather large especially compared to mine I was more puzzled with their description "Abstract". I said nothing, but upon returning home I googled the word Abstract which stated various definitions however I thought the most apt was "existing only in the mind - seperated from embodiment" - abstract words like - "Truth and Justice".
I thought for a while what message was the Doctor trying to convey to me by describing a fellow patient as "abstract". I concluded they were trying to tell me that if I keep a positive attitude and my mind remain healthy that my body may well follow suit.
I've been feeling better these past few days taking things one day at a time and keeping a positive atttiude. I'm working closer towards my goals..............and preparing myself to reap the rewards.
