For the benefit of those on this board not familiar with the scientific style of speech and writing, no (true, reputable, employed, prudent) scientist will ever say that something is impossible, only that they would believe it were impossible UNTIL Proven otherwise. Coming from a reputable scientist, Speaking for publication, For the record, That statement is as strong as you will ever see.

Bad recovery. You didn't even know who said it. When Dr. Fraser said it, he would have to (correctly) state that it might not have ever happened. It was a speculative statement. No one could correctly/definitively state that such and such would never have happened, when you are talking about technology and science intersecting with the same results. I imagine flippant statements are rare from the Dr. Fraser. DoD has good reason to ask for your DD. Everyone should have known this by now.
