K9 doesn't post SPEC scores that are much greater than K8, and it isn't supposed to, either. K9 added dual core support, and not a heck of a lot else. By the way, your link showed availability=no on the parts listed. I can see AMD ramping 2.4GHz eventually, but it takes a lot more effort to get to 3.0GHz. Conroe has the benefit of 65nm, so I expect it will get there rather easily. It's also 14 pipeline stages to AMD's 12, which may help it to clock higher once Intel has a chance to optimize the pipeline (I expect even more frequency headroom from the 45nm Conroe shrink). But I can't see AMD getting their SPEC scores up to the level of the recent digit-life estimate. Of course, that doesn't mean that Conroe will score that high, either. With Conroe, it's still mostly speculation. At least with K8/K9, we know most of what AMD will deliver next year and into '07.
