Absolutely. I'm sure those insurance policies have matured since I was last involved with them...the biggest thing is that normal people will often come up with outrageous sums of $$$ to save their pets. I think there has been a culture shift in the last 20 years from the dog that lived out on the back porch and could be dispatched on the "farm" if things went wrong to the dog that is now seen as a family member requiring the same amount of medical care.

Every time I take my dog to the vet they want to run blood work to check all sorts of things - liver, kidney, cancer screening, ect. It seems that many people willingly pay for these services that outstript the regular medical care that I get.

No doubt that vet care is a lucurative business that will continue to grow....
