I worked for a vet for 4 years...but it was a several years ago so things may have changed.

- Pet Insurance - These are not like human policies and often have very low coverage limits and will not cover "radical" treatments. For dogs/cats cancer treatment is still considered pretty "radical"

- It was not uncommon for people to pay $1K-$3K for a surgery on a dog. We did a lot of ACL and hip displaysia surgeries. For some folks it seems like a lot but it is surprising how many folks would come up with the money. Many vets do in house payment plans for expensiver procedures so its easier for folks to say "yes".

Lets see how today plays out...need to bulls to show up again.
