Did she at least take your name and number?

I've had that happen more than once (Michael out of the office at an early hour) and each time I was told he was out doing business of some sort - well, except once when he was home sick. It may or may not be true, but at least the receptionist knew the right thing to say.

Anyway, if she didn't take your name and number that's an issue. I'd call back again, and again, and again, until you get him on the phone.
