I don't think that is correct. They are just pointing out that the actual sale takes place at some distance from the drug rep's efforts. A traditional salesperson actually takes orders and attempts to close the sale. So what is going on here is somewhat different from a traditional sales process.

I do of course agree that the sales rep is the only person involved here that is actually doing any "selling."
