You might try asking your broker if he will buy you out of your position for $0.01. Some brokers have the authority to do this. The only benefit to you is that you can then write off your loss.

My broker will allow me to list a stock item as defunct by having me re-assign it to them. There is no money exchange, however it lets me file it with my income taxes as a capital loss. Its kind of a Catch-22, because if the doggone thing ever comes back to life for any reason I am out of luck to re-claim it. Attached is a pic of the letter that they supplied for me to mail in as required. Where there is black-out just substitute 'broker. Perhaps other brokers have a similar set-up.-TB
