Larry... is that the Mercedes murderess from TX...
Caught that she had been found guilty in the Times this afternoon but sentencing hadn't been decided... Shame she lost her temper... no cheating scuz bucket is worth 20 years in jail. Oh well... so much for bruised egos.
<ggg>
In the same paper, I saw that Robert Chambers the "preppie killer" was released from prison today after serving his maximum sentence of 15 years. I don't know if anyone outside of NYC remembers the case. He (19) strangled 18-year-old Jennifer Levin in Central Park after a night of drinking illegally at a bar on the Upper East Side and indulging in cocaine culminating in rough sex behind the Met(ropolitan Museum of Art). How romantic. Bartender of record (this was not in the article) was Geraldine Ferraro's son... the one that was popped in college for selling coke... he conveniently could not remember a thing about that night... hmmm... any coke connections here?
FWIW... I was rejected from that jury... I sat for three days before being questioned. Chambers just sat there with absolutely no expression on his face... Coldest person I've ever observed. When I was called into the interview room, I was seated at a table directly across from him... I could not look at him. Got out on a poor hearing excuse... had written that I did not hear well on the questionnaire and proved it when the judge called me in. I thought he said follow me... but he had told me to wait a minute. Whoops. <ggg>
Ah Manhattan jury duty stories... I have a few...
Pleasant Evening Larry...
