If pensions work so well....give them to all workers instead of the meager Social Security we all pay into. There was a time that the public employee was paid substantially less and the pension was a benny used to attract talent. The times have changed...we need to address total compensation...specifically the actual cost of those promised future benefits.
Again....if those benefits are so great...give them to every worker or give them to none. The taxpayer guarantees their comfortable retirement regardless of how their investments do...that is insane. Did anyone stoploss your 401k this past decade?
