False. "Hope" isn't part of their business decisions. If a market maker's made a million on a stock, what's eating $100k in order to make a market and make more money in the future? They don't buy low and sell high. They make a spread. But like I said, it's complicated.
thats right. MM's do as their titles claim, they make a market. And they do so with the intent to Make Money, which coincidentally is also MM. And they are successful in their intent almost all of the time.
