here is a good discovery channel episode on the brain but they do in depth about sleep around 27:40 right after the nascar section...

the entire video is pretty amazing and i think everyone should watch it.. but the sleep part is relevant to this conversation.. and how the brain can literally take over.. especially when it needs sleep
