We got one these mailers. My wife’s name is on the list. Our mailer has a targeted list of us and neighbors.
Our mailer reads:
“Dear Registered Voter:
Who votes is public record!
Why do so many people fail to vote? We’ve been talking about the problem for years, but it only seems to get worse….”
The rest of the words in the top section are the same as the example in the article. The list is names of people and their addresses in our neighborhood. I have not checked yet to see if they are all real.
My response to the mailer:
Concerning the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund postcard:
Had you sent me a card reminding me to vote without displaying individuals voting records, I would have seen this as good. Records of who votes may be public information, but putting my personal record of voting, and others, on a postcard to people in my community is scumbaggery. You subverted the intent of keeping public records. You all ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Have you any decency at all?
I see you mention ethics and justice at the Greater Wisconsin Committee website. Show me the ethics. I will be looking for justice for the scumbags in this recall election.
