this is why I argue about this stuff all the time. You can develop the codes with higher levels of security and more user functions/interaction engaging content versus the direct method.

Marketing people understand the difference and for the long term know that indirect method(s) will win out. The direct method does not give the same return of the marketing dollars as indirect. the data provided from direct versus in direct is not an issue that can be ignored.. for to long. direct just gets the consumers and marketers educated on the technology.

ScanBuy went with direct codes

...immediately after licensing w/NeoMedia

YAGI's in trouble w/NeoMedia - and they know it!

the work arounds to NeoMedia's 048 core indirect patent are numerous and growing daily

no campaign manager needed any longer

no 2nd server required

can change content on the fly with direct

direct is about 98% of all codes in the wild today

the 048 core patent is in its twilight years

will expire in next 2-1/2 yrs

80+ barcode scanners now available

numerous other barcode company's below springing up like wild flowers

diamond: The Coca-Cola campaign uses directly encoded barcodes not included in NeoMedia's IP.
