and another thing--putting the ESFS gear into the new stores allows for a better marketing message. WF can say "our new stores have been designed from day 1 with the latest, state-of-the-art equipment to assure your food is as safe and fresh as it possibly can be".

With existing stores, an upgrade can't be trumpeted, as the take-away is often "you mean to say they were not as safe as possible before?" (kind of like when McDonald's said their "new" chicken nuggets were "all breast meat" - made me wonder what they ere made of previously...).
