Gene01, I will repost a post from earlier this week.
Basically, it is when the 50 Day MA crosses upward and passes the 200 Day MA.

This is as bullish as it gets, chart wise... Normally you see a heck of a lot of volume and momentum players riding it higher.

Last time HLNT had this was that sept/2010 time when HLNT was
trading approx .065-.0070 ranger and the golden cross happened causing HLNT to peak to .0186

Golden Cross Defined:

The golden cross is a chart pattern created when a shorter term moving average was below a longer term moving average, but it crosses above that moving average. This is typically seen as a bullish signal.

The golden cross is mostly used with longer term moving averages. It's an especially strong signal when the 50 day moving average crosses above the 200 day moving average.
