TRCPA - If Portland moves forward with a KDS for garbage recycling and is successful with not just the odor problems, but can create pathogen free re-usable materials, I wonder how long it will take for other cities to follow suite? I have long believed that the KDS could be used for this purpose.
Most communities are looking to close down their landfills, which leads to any number of questions regarding what to do with the refuse. According to the EPA there are ~3100 active municipal landfills in the US. MSW is an opportunity for the KDS and PacWest is answering the knock on the door!
