Death

Thanks Fred Meyers thats right. Maybe i exagerated a little when i said their prices were twice that of walmart but their prices are significantly higher. I lived within a half mile of a Fred Meyer and shopped there a lot.

Walmart has much better prices.

This is coming from someone that usually will pay the extra price to avoid the huge crowds at walmart. I am sure Walmart is not displeased by the huge crowds but i cant stand it.

death: WMT:

Ok, well you have an emotional bias. You're an anti big box person (pro mom and pop "backbone of our country"). Therefore, you cannot argue objectively about Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart IS cheap stuff from China. The only problem with your inference is that instead of "cheap" being derogatory, it is a POSITIVE - because "cheap" means LESS UNNECESSARY EXPENDITURES - which will increasingly matter in the future.

The products at Wal-Mart are every bit as good as any average person needs them to be. It is an agingly naive stereotype to suggest otherwise. In fact, you can take anything back to WMT almost no matter how long you have had it and they will replace it. They don't waste time asking questions. Their suppliers get hit - not them. Thus, their suppliers KNOW that they will be held accountable and their own internal QC is that much better.

I hate to be the one to inform you of this, but the mom and pop is well on the way to joining the buggy whip.
