Pink sheet stocks get a ton of hedge-fund interest. They basically
start with Market Cap valuations & take a position while conducting
further DD (one of my best friends runs a hedge fund) & they will
(after taking an initial position) amplify it more often than not.
So many variables to running a successful business that the odds are
the business will fail; so, think of hedge funds then, who are active
with pennies, as the casino. Meaning, the odds are stacked in their
favor.
So to those that suggest shorts don't exist, I respectfully disagree
because the ADVANTAGE & statistical evidence supports the risk (of
the casino). The casino can bear additional costs because ODDS are,
even when they are in deep on a stock they may have done little, none
or even poor DD on; MOST BUSINESS overwhelmingly go out of business
(down here it is dilute, reverse split, &/or close). So, they often win.
That success mitigates the few-and-far between "losses" from the
couple that make it out alive. Even them, between message board
rhetoric-control, L2 manipulation, & plenty of capital at their
disposal they can employ MANY resources to reduce any large losses.
So, I believe there are shorts in many, many pennies & it is why I
chart my course with technical analysis (another "myth" for others
to debate). In the end, I don't know the match or "science" behind
the buyin "method". It would be helpful to know, in order to base
ANY kind of actually INFORMED decision. Others may say the proof
is in the pudding...we'll have to see.
I suspect we'll get some more attention & discussion on the matter
so we'll see. Time will tell,...always does!!
