Ian-when I first read Clevverox's post, I read it the same way you did and was about to make a similar comment myself (but not as eloquently as you did :-). But upon re-reading it, I suspected that he was not referring to this quarter, but to some near term future quarter as he has now explained. So I left it alone.
However, the balance of you post is timely and very succinctly get to the heart of the true situation here and was very well done.
I don't know what the motivation of the sellers are at these ridiculously low prices, but concern about the now proven inevitable growth of this company should not be one.
