Do you think he was just poorly informed and a bad judge of character or do you think he was intentionally misleading honest investors?

I think he was intentionally misleading everybody. I think he was so confident that the lid would never come off that he could say most anything and get away with it. Sadly, it turns out that a lot of bagholders were not very good judges of character.
